Ty Music Week 11-15 March 2024 Laois Music Centre

Music Generation Laois’ annual TY Music Week will take place from the 11-15 March in Laois Music Centre.

Music Generation Laois @ Old Fort Quarter Festival

Music Generation Laois returns to the Old Fort Quarter Festival 2023 on Sunday 25 June with bands from Music Generation programmes in Offaly, Roscommon, Limerick, south Dublin, Waterford and Sligo, as well as home-grown Laois bands!

 

Summer Programmes 2023

Music Generation Laois Summer programmes include a Trad Summer School and a Summer School of Rock and Pop in late June/ July 2023.

These music programmes offer young musicians the opportunity to further develop their music skills, take part in concerts, and make new friends!

FREE EVENTS for families including music, circus and art and crafts workshops and live performances will take place in Laois Music Centre to mark Cruinniú na nÓg 2023,

Premiere of 6 new songs composed by Lorna McLaughlin, Sarah Murphy and children from Cloneyhurke, Paddock and Rath National Schools.

Music Generation Laois present, a weekend of concerts in Stradbally’s Malthouse venue.

Community Concert Friday 31 March

We are delighted to announce details of our community concert in St. Peter and Paul’s Church, Portlaoise on Friday 31 March at 5pm, free admission. This special concert will feature our new Ukrainian Community Choir. This concert will also showcase many of the wonderful groups we work with across the community.

Weeklong TY Music Course

Booking is now open for our inaugural week-long music course for Transition Year Students. 

Music Generation Laois, Laois Offaly Education and Training Board Further Education and Training Centre, and Laois Offaly Education and Training Board Creative Youth Partnership presents, a week-long music course for Transition Year Students, from the 27– 31 March 2023 in Laois Music Centre.

Music Generation Laois Launch New Children’s’ Song Project

Over the next 12 months, Music Generation Laois will work with primary school children from Cloneyhurke NS, Rath NS and Paddock NS to compose a series of original songs under an exciting new project supported by Creative Ireland Laois, Laois County Council, and the Art Council’s Young People, Commissions and Education Award.

Laois School of Music 21st Birthday Celebrations 2022

Youth Music Gathering, Sunday 26 June 2022

Music Generation Laois, in partnership with The Old Fort Quarter Festival, presents a youth gathering for rock and pop bands from Music Generation programmes throughout Ireland as part of The Old Fort Quarter Festival 2022 on the grounds of Laois Music Centre on Sunday 26 June from 1.30pm – 4.30pm.

Laois Le Chéile – Laois Together

‘Laois Le Chéile – Laois Together’ is an inaugural community arts festival on Saturday 11 June 2022 from 1pm-4pm on the grounds of Laois Music Centre, Portlaoise and invites all Laois communities, new and existing to acknowledge our diversity through creativity and culture.

 

 

re:CENTRING Laois comes to Fitzmaurice Place, Portlaoise on Sunday 29 May

Celebrating the return of audiences to the arts, Dunamaise Arts Centre is proud to present the finale of re:CENTRING Laois, funded by the Arts Council’s Faoin Spéir/In the Open initiative in collaboration with Music Generation Laois and Laois County Council, on Sunday 29 May from 1pm-5pm.
